2.6 The Golden Hour (Twin Trees Vet Pet First Aid Course

THE CLOCK IS TICKING!

Be familiar with the concept of the GOLDEN HOUR, a concept adapted from human medicine -- meaning for certain emergencies if you do not get the patient into an operating theatre (where it can receive surgical intervention and blood transfusion) wiithin 1 hour the chance of survival is low.

In certain emergency situations, you do not waste time "rendering first aid," with the exceptions of providing swift, critical interventions that are life-saving. No wasting time bandaging or splinting or cleaning wounds. In certain types of emergencies, providing first aid means: SCOOP AND RUN!

Before practicing approaching a critical hit by car situation for example, repeat this 10 times:
My name is _______. I am a first aid attendant. My job is to get this patient to the closest ER as quickly and safely as possible. Time is of the essence, every second matters.
