Dog Ate Toxic Chocolate!

Oliver was brought in to the veterinary ER for chocolate toxicity. In this video, we discuss the dangers of chocolate to dogs. We also show how to use an online chocolate toxicity calculator to estimate the risk. It is always best to call your veterinarian or the ASPCA animal poison control when this happens. Always keep chocolate and other poisons stored safely out of reach of pets. Finally, beware of XYLITOL, an artificial sweetener that can be lethal to dogs. Xylitol is starting to appear in many food products, including sugar-free chocolates and baked goods.
