Dog Day at the Whistler Olympic Park

Whistler Olympic Park knows that dogs and humans are best friends and that our four-legged buddies are part of the family.  That is why they ensure that dogs can join in on the outdoor family fun with their humans.

So on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 the team is inviting all dogs to experience skiing or snowshoeing at the park for free* and the first 50 dogs through the gate will receive a doggie bag filled with treats and deals! Enjoy a community celebration for our furry friends.

This Saturday! Connect with your dog in the great outdoors @whistlerolympicPark! This park is one of the ONLY parks that allows dogs out on designated groomed cross-country skiing trails and snowshoeing trails. On Saturday, March 10th, 2018 they are inviting all dogs to experience skiing or snowshoeing at the park for free* and the first 50 dogs through the gate will receive a doggie bag filled with treats and deals! DOGS SKI & SNOWSHOE FREE!* The first 50 dogs through the gate receive a doggie bag of tasty treats and deals! Several lucky bags will have grand prizes valued at up to $125. Support WAG by bringing a donation! -Bully Stick dog chews -Cans of tuna fish -Cat treats -Dog treats -Dog toys – squeakies, stuffies, bones, balls, etc. -Stuffed dog bones -Money! **Dogs must be accompanied by a human guest. Human guests require a valid ski or snowshoe trail ticket and equipment, all of which are available for purchase and rental at the park.  Maximum 2 dogs to 1 human.  Dogs are welcome on designated dog-friendly trails and parking lots. Ensure to familiarize yourself with the dog skiing rules, etiquette, and dog-friendly trails at the park.

    Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid offers a recognized National Pet First Aid Certificate course for dog and cat professionals and pet owners.

    WAG will be hosting a course on September 30th from 9 am to 7 pm. Live dogs can be pre-registered and join in!

    If you are lost phone in before class start time at 604-809-9247 or 1-800-298-1152. Alternatively stop and ask someone for directions if class has started.

    Parking:

    There are a few free spaces to park in front of the shelter; however, parking is limited on the street. If possible try to carpool or take transit otherwise you can park at Spruce Grove Park which is approximately a 10 minute walk to the venue.

    What to bring:

    1. Wear comfortable clothing that you can layer on and off.
    2. Bring writing paper and pen/pencil.
    3. While we do supply snacks and beverages, there will be a lunch break to have a larger meal if you’d like. There are a number of places to eat in the vicinity or feel free to pack a lunch.
    4. Dogs are welcome if registered ONLY and there is a 5 dog per class maximum. Dogs must be relatively calm, quiet, sociable with dogs/people, and be willing to be handled by multiple people for demonstrations. We reserve the right to send any dog home if s/he is felt to be disruptive or unsuitable for the dynamics of the class. While we cover cat first aid as well, we regret cats are unable to attend class since the dogs become too excited.

    Cancellations:

    We will return full payment if a cancellation is made up to one week prior to the course start date. Any cancellations or transfers after this point are subject to a $25 administration fee. Cancellations made within 72 hours of course start date will not be refunded nor transferred.
