How about treating both yourself and your dog?

Gracie, needless to say, loves food. The question, of whether Gracie or I am the biggest foodie, however, is still unresolved. I think we’re tied.

I’ve recently immersed myself in the world of recipes that humans and dogs can both go nuts over.

The best part about these recipes is you can pamper yourself and your canine at the same time. And everyone in your household, too.

Here are three fruity and delicious – and healthy – treat recipes for you and your pup.

Banana Almond Puppy Treats

It takes just four ingredients to make some delicious banana almond puppy treats. Yup. That’s all it takes. You might even have the ingredients in your pantry.

Mash some ripe banana in a bowl. Add nut butter, an organic, free-range egg, and a pinch of cinnamon. Spoon small dollops of batter onto your baking sheet. Bake, and enjoy. Yum.

Dog Cookies

Peanut Butter Cookie Bites

You might have some trouble stopping everyone else in the house from finishing these cookie bites before your dog gets some. I speak from experience.

Mash some ripe bananas with nut butter and steel-cut oats. Add in some dried fruit if you like. Spoon small coins of batter onto your baking sheet. Put in your mouth. Or offer them to your dog.

Frozen Fruity Flavours

These are the perfect summertime treat. For humans and dogs. No artificial flavours or chemicals that make you do a double-take. Just pure fruit.

Blend some frozen banana and berries. (In the summer, try freezing big bags full of Fraser Valley berries. It’s cheaper than buying frozen berries at the store and perhaps tastier.) Spoon dollops onto a baking sheet and place in the freezer. Once frozen, store your fruity favours in airtight bags.
